DON’T QUIT ~
Don’t quit when the tide is lowest, For it’s just about to turn; Don’t quit over doubts and questions, For there’s something you may learn. Don’t quit when the night is darkest, For it’s just a while ‘til dawn; Don’t quit when you’ve run the farthest, For the race is almost won. Don’t quit when the hill is steepest, For your goal is almost nigh; Don’t quit, for you’re not a failure Until you fail to try. Author...Jill Wolf

The You That You See Is The You That You Become
Who We AreG.L.A.D. is a volunteer based 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency, offering volunteer therapy dog assistance programs for youth in Camden County, Georgia. Addressing illiteracy among Camden county children. Our academic enrichment programs concentrate on youth pre-identified as at risk between the ages of five (5) and eighteen (18) years of age.
|
The ResultOur program methodology is unique. However we are not alone in this proven concept. Each therapy dog and its volunteer handler are provided with extensive training and evaluation prior to their entering the program. Through program participation a child begins gaining a positive attitude towards his/her future and sense of self. G.L.A.D. strategy empowers youth to modify habits and behaviors leading to successful experiences in our school system and in our community.
"Think of giving not as a duty but as a privilege." — John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

What We DoG.L.A.D. focus is youth literacy. We acknowledge that there are many at-risk categories. To help improve such problems, we offer a direct approach which nurtures and educates children with the use of our therapy dogs. This allows each child to naturally regain a sense of joy, hope, and peace through the development of impulse control, emotional regulation, and empathy when entering into social and daily settings. G.L.A.D is focused and committed to helping youth ages five (5)-eighteen (18) through proven therapy dog assistance programs designed to improve academics. Our enrichment programs support, encourage and empower youth. Youth gain a sense of accomplishment and pride in their individual abilities to overcome personal and social adversity, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties.
